Travel through Thailand
Thailand is a country of striking contrasts. Bangkok moves at full speed between temples, markets, rooftop bars and crowded streets, while the north feels calmer and more reflective. Further south, rainforest, limestone cliffs and tropical islands shape a completely different rhythm. This book brings together our routes, stories and practical notes from travelling through the country.

Where to stay
Places to stay in Thailand
We can recommend these stays when you are travelling through Thailand, from luxury hotels to boutiques and out-of-city stays.

Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok
Lumphini · Bangkok
A luxurious start of your journey in Bangkok is guaranteed at Sindhorn Midtown. The hotel is located in the richer part of Bangkok near Lumphini Park. The hotel is incredibly service-centered, has an amazing 18 stories high pool and even the standard room is already a great. The breakfast is really unbeatable in options but comes at a price.
Starting from (in low season)
€ 188 per night

My Chiang Mai Boutique Hotel
Mueang district · chiang mai
In the second largest city of Thailand, this is a hidden gem. It’s a 10 minute walk to the walls of the Old City and easily accessible by car, taxi or on foot. The boutique hotel has very nice quiet rooms, a private pool to cool down in and a bar to order drinks or snacks. However, the best thing is the people working here. They are super welcoming without overdoing it. We stayed here in April (so we really needed to cold pool) for 4 nights and enjoyed every bit of it!
Starting from (in low season)
€ 54 per night

Whalecome Aonang Resort
AO NANG · KRABI
The hotel has small but complete rooms all around a beautiful garden with grass, trees and lots of birds. The pool feels like it’s part of this garden and gives off jungle vibes. Each morning you can enjoy a nice breakfast and enjoy the chirping of birds. It’s amazing how calm and silent the hotel is when the town of Ao Nang is extremely busy and feels like a over the top tourist festival. Within 5 minutes from the hotel you can enjoy the jaw-dropping beaches and night-life.
Starting from (in low season)
€ 65 per night

Santhiya Resort
Koh Pha Ngan district · Koh Pha Ngan
Paradise on Earth… it comes at a price but it’s hard to beat. From checking in, to riding in beautiful wooden carts to your room (more like Royal suite), everything is perfected on this resort. We had a room with our own pool with view over the ocean, but the resort offers entire private villa houses with private garden and pool. Not that you need it with the beautiful two pools and private beaches the resort has to offer. The price per night also includes a fixed THB you can spend during the day and countless services such as sunrise yoga or massages. We stayed here for 5 days in April, but we wanted to stay there for much longer!
Starting from (in low season)
€ 288 per night

Villa Bangkok
Khaosan · Bangkok
Villa Bangkok is a very nice small hotel with good quality rooms ranging from small 2 person rooms to bigger more luxurious rooms. Very nice staff, clean rooms and a nice quiet place to swim and relax. The hotel offers breakfast but we did not book this on our stay. Super helpful are there lockers for your backpack or suitcase when you to leave the room but do not want to carry your stuff around!
Starting from (in low season)
€ 72 per night
